Grand Knight Report – May 2015

GK_Dan_ThompsonDear Brother Knights,

As my time as Grand Knight ends I would like to thank you all for your efforts and dedication to our council. You truly make our council the great one it is. It has been my honor and privilege to serve you. As many of you know I will be moving this month to Mansfield Massachusetts to be closer to my kids.

During this year our council supported the Church, Moorpark Pantry Plus, Boy Scouts, the American Wheelchair Program, Boys and Girls Club, just to name a few. Overall we participated in over 30 community service events. You should all be proud of the impact you have on our community. I know I am.

At our last meeting we voted to once again support our own seminarian, Antonio Diaz, with tuition support of $1500.00. We supported an Eagle Scout project. We had a presentation on our own GEM program. We would like to recruit 12 new members to participate in the GEM program. Overall this program is bringing in around $3000.00 annually to our foundation. Consider joining this effort.

Our golf tournament is progressing well with Andy Willrodt chairing our efforts. Mike LoCollo is cochairman. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. If you have raffle tickets to sell please make a real effort to sell your tickets. If you know of a company or corp. that would be willing to support the tournament please pursue that possibility.

Next month we will vote on our new officers. We still need someone to step up to be our new Warden. If you are interested you find this to be an excellent way to begin greater involvement in our council. Here is the slate of proposed new officers:

GK Cris Kalal
DGK Augie Godinez
Chancellor Mike LoCollo
Warden John Kramer
Guard Kim Daehlin
Guard Rey Bailon
Advocate Tom McKenzie
Financial Secretary Scott Borg
Treasurer Steve Desaultels
Recorder Andy Suarez
Membership Director Mike Hikey
Trustee Andy Willrodt
Trustee Patrick Leyden
Trustee Deacon Pat Coulter

Thank you for all your hard work this year to make my
time as Grand Knight a rewarding experience.

Vivat Jesus,
Dan Thompson
